Infant Jesus English Medium School stands as a beacon of knowledge and character formation, guided by the vision of the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel (CMC). The CMC traces its origin to Blessed Chavara Kuriakose Elias, a towering spiritual leader who played a vital role in shaping the history of the Syrian Church in Kerala. On 13 February 1886, the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel for women was founded at Koonammavu, under the inspiring leadership of St. Chavara, together with Very Rev. Fr. Leopold OCD.
From its humble beginnings, the congregation grew steadily and expanded its mission across the world, spreading the light of Christ through education, service, and compassionate care. The history of the CMC Mananthavady Province reflects this divine journey—one filled with God’s boundless grace, the loving protection of Mother of Carmel, and the powerful intercession of our founders. We gratefully remember the countless blessings showered upon us over the years.

Founded in 1999, Infant Jesus English Medium School is a minority educational institution established and managed by the CMC. The school was founded primarily to uplift and educate the children of the local community. We welcome students irrespective of caste, creed, religion, or social background, and we respect each student’s individuality and freedom of conscience.
At the heart of our institution lies a collaborative educative community comprising parents, teachers, students, and the school management. Together, we work in a family atmosphere to nurture holistic development in every child—intellectual, emotional, physical, moral, and spiritual.
We follow the NCERT curriculum as prescribed by CBSE, with English as the medium of instruction. The school follows the Three-Language Formula, ensuring a strong foundation in communication and linguistic skills. Our campus includes a well-equipped library, modern laboratories, and excellent sports and games facilities.
